Four Fresh Air Activities To Do in Lake Nona

Take some time outside to stop and smell the wildflowers.

We’re sharing ways to take a break and enjoy some Florida sunshine. Not to mention, staying active and spending time outside are natural stress reducers. If you’re feeling a bit sluggish, it may be time for a healthy dose of vitamin D.

Chalk your walk
01. CHALK YOUR WALK

Decorate your sidewalk or driveway with chalk doodles, designs, and encouraging messages for your neighbors as they stroll by. Make sure to take photos of what you see and share it with us and other neighbors using the hashtag #LNchalkwalk.

02. PICK SOME WILDFLOWERS

Create a bouquet of Lake Nona grown blooms with fresh clippings from the beautiful wildflowers growing along Tavistock Lakes Boulevard between Pixon and Laureate Park. Be sure to cut the cosmos close to the base of the stem while keeping a set of leaves intact. The more you cut them, the more they’ll grow!

Community Garden
03. PLANT A GARDEN

Save your scraps! Blending banana peels, eggshells and coffee grinds makes a great fertilizer. Other scraps from food like carrots, potatoes and garlic can be planted to re-grow with you new homemade fertilizer. Whether it’s in one of our community gardens or in your own backyard, learning to grow your own fruits, veggies, and spices can be a fun and exciting experience for kids.
