Lake Nona Pineapple Festival

Summertime celebration brings a slice of island life to Lake Nona

June 25, 2021

From midday to late night, the sights, sounds, and tastes of Puerto Rico filled the Town Center as visitors and residents from across the region gathered for the first-ever Lake Nona Pineapple Festival.

Why pineapples? They grow best in tropical climates like Puerto Rico where the oceanfront community and bioluminescent bay of La Parguera hosts its annual Festival de la Piña Paradisíaca – the inspiration for the Lake Nona Pineapple Festival.

In Puerto Rico, the festival celebrates all the flavors the fruit brings to the community’s dishes, desserts, drinks, and dance!

In Lake Nona, a line-up of vibrant live music, talented local artisans, and authentic food vendors brought the festival to life. After the sun went down, a first-of-its-kind light show inspired by La Parguera’s bioluminescent bay illuminated the night with stunning visuals on The Beacon enhanced by live performances.

“This event celebrated our Puerto Rican culture elegantly and inclusively,” said Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando President/CEO Gaby Ortigoni.

“Attendees enjoyed every single minute. The feedback we have received is how proud people felt of this celebration and how so many small business owners and artisans were able to make profits they haven’t had for almost two years. We look forward to working with Lake Nona again for this and other Hispanic events.”
