THE BEACON AND CODE WALL
As centerpieces of Lake Nona Town Center and visual icons representing the vision of Lake Nona’s architects—to fuse art and science to create the community of the future—“The Beacon and Code Wall” stand out as striking, functional installations. Here, community events such as Lake Nona Nights and more provide entertainment and commerce for the citizens of Lake Nona—and you’re invited to join in the experience.
SHAPING THE SKYLINE
What began as an idea has turned into a vibrant community full of activity, commerce and—most importantly—innovation. “The Beacon and Code Wall” serve as anchors representing the upward rise of Lake Nona. Designed in partnership by Lake Nona artist JEFRE, New York-based Michael Counts and 3-Legged Dog, together, these monuments fuse art and science, standing as tribute to the vision of Lake Nona’s architects.
Interactive, Functional Art
Far from just being visually appealing installation art pieces, “The Beacon and Code Wall” also serve functional purposes. Lake Nona’s two anchor hotels are located just next to these landmarks, so all visitors can experience these works of art during their stay.
At night, “The Beacon” comes to life with a visual experience of video, music and interactive elements designed in partnership by Lake Nona artist JEFRE, New York-based Michael Counts and 3-Legged Dog. Likewise, “Code Wall” serves as a parking area and an interactive piece of visual art. For a fun learning experience, we invite visitors to interpret the binary code written in its dichroic glass while you’re here: simply look for the plaques that will assist you to read the binary around the wall. In the code, you’ll learn about the vision and purpose of Lake Nona—a community built to inspire.
