Lake Nona’s second City of Orlando Park, McCoy Community Park, is now open!
The all-American celebration featured stilt walkers who handed out Cracker Jacks and popcorn along with a barbershop quartet that serenaded the crowd with “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer threw the first pitch with District 1 City Commissioner Jim Gray and representatives from the McCoy family. The celebration continued with a scrimmage and registration for the South Orlando Babe Ruth Baseball spring season.
Located on Dowden Road near NorthLake Park, the 25-acre park features a new pony field, softball field, and two Little League fields as well as spectator bleachers, scoreboards, and lighting for evening games.
The park also has a playground, shaded concession stand, restrooms, pavilion, ample parking, and walking/running path linked to Lake Nona’s trail system.
