More Library Pop-ups coming to Lake Nona
More family fun from Orange County Library System coming to Valencia College Lake Nona
Orange County Library System (OCLS) has been popping up at Valencia College’s Lake Nona Campus (12340 Narcoossee Rd., Orlando, FL 32832) all year offering Lake Nona residents free, monthly family-friendly events. The Library Pop-Up: Lake Nona series brings library programming to Lake Nona, one of the most-requested amenities from residents.
From story time to arts and crafts, the pop-up events provide a variety of educational and community engagement opportunities that inspire minds of all ages. In December, the library pop-up featured a carnival theme with a face-painter and balloon artist.
The monthly library pop-up series will continue throughout 2020 with the next one coming up on Saturday, January 11 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in room 148. The event will feature story time and family Zumba where you’ll learn basic moves to help you dance your way to fitness.
On Saturday, February 8, at the same time and place, OrisiRisi African Folklore will share the beauty of African life and culture through a unique folkloric performance filled with drumming, dance and storytelling.
Library pop-ups like these help OCLS gather feedback on community interest in all that a library has to offer. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for library card with OCLS at each pop-up.
