In March 2006, UCF received approval to construct a College of Medicine in Lake Nona Medical City. The college has now entered its seventh year and enrollment has increased 10-fold in just six years.

According to a recently released study conducted by Arduin, Laffer & Moore Econometrics, this new college of medicine will create more than 30,000 local jobs and have a 10-year economic impact of $7.6 billion. The campus includes the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, a medical library and other UCF health sciences programs, capitalizing on the university’s strengths in biomedical sciences, modeling, simulation, optics and photonics, while fulfilling the community’s need to develop more physicians.

The UCF College of Medicine is an integral part of the growing Lake Nona Medical City.
