Pixon Art RFP

Calling all artists…We want YOU to design the next great public art exhibit in Lake Nona, at our newest multifamily community, Pixon.

Lake Nona is seeking an artist or artist-team to design, fabricate, and install a dynamic, site-specific artwork with the primary goal of serving as a visual landmark for this neo-urban, forward-thinking community.

Placement will occur on three levels of the north, east and west façade of Pixon. Located within walking distance to the growing Lake Nona Town Center at the southeast intersection of Tavistock Lakes Boulevard and Lake Nona Boulevard, Pixon is an urban-inspired, 201-unit multi-family community featuring a Tesla car share program and concierge delivery system, 32,500 SF of ground floor retail and the Orlando market’s first micro-apartment units.

The intersection is one of the main corridors within Lake Nona, and is frequently used by motorists, trail riders, dog-walkers, families, and numerous others, with thousands driving by in vehicles at posted speeds of 25 mph. As a work of public art located along a transportation corridor, it should not create a distraction for drivers. The art will also be located on a residential building and should not interfere with the daily lives of residents, i.e. lights, noise, obstructions, etc.

The deadline for submissions is February 28.
