In the spirit of giving this holiday season, we’ve rounded up a few ways to give back in Lake Nona this year. From donating children’s books to volunteering at the USTA National Campus, your gifts will bring holiday cheer to those who need it most.

GuideWell Innovation Center is hosting a toy drive for Nemours Children’s Hospital through December 13. For the health and safety of the children, Nemours can only accept toys that are new, latex-free unwrapped. Please avoid cloth toys and toys for infants and toddlers that have small or sharp pieces. Nemours asks that you respect the beliefs of the families in need by not donating religious or political items.

Address: GuideWell Innovation Center, 6900 Tavistock Lakes Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827

Encourage a love for reading by donating new and unwrapped books to Nemours Children’s Hospital. They are always in need of new books because patients get to keep their books due to infection control. While new books for all ages are accepted, their most requested books include board books for young children and Spanish-language books. Deliver your donations to the lobby at Nemours from Dec. 18-23:
-Wednesday, December 18 – Friday, December 20: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
-Monday, December 23 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Address: Nemours Children’s Hospital, 13535 Nemours Parkway, Orlando, FL 32827

Valencia College Lake Nona Campus is hosting a holiday hygiene drive through December 18 to support the residents of Central Florida Children’s Home. Stop by Valencia’s Christmas main hallway where you’ll find a Christmas tree decorated with resident wish lists. Pull a tag and return with your donations to Valencia’s welcome desk or Student Development in room 149A.
